Albany, NY - Effective as of May 1, 2022, BWP Football Academy will be re-establishing its daily operations and will be holding Trials for boys for next year’s age groups and flights - Grassroots (U7-U9), Pre-Academy (U10-U12) and Academy (U13-U19) - June 21-29, 2022 at Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) in Colonie, New York. Trials will begin on Tuesday, June 21 and run through Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
All current teams will continue to have an external appearance as Blackwatch Rush Academy and Pre-Academy teams through the current Spring season which concludes on June 16, 2022. Age groups will function, train and compete, through Thursday, August 11, 2022. “We have tried many things over the past decade to create better opportunities for our players and staff, and the decision to return to BWP Football Academy was simple, all of our energy and resources need to be focused on our technical environment,” stated Blackwatch Soccer Club, Inc. Founder Steve Freeman. “Having worked in the Capital Region’s youth soccer landscape for 27 years, I can honestly say that we are simply trying to do our work better, know our players better, support our coaches better and build a community around players, families and coaches who love our sport, soccer. We are okay with being smaller, more intimate. There aren’t many players and families who want to train 3-4 times per week, travel to find more competitive opposition, take on a 10.5 month calendar of activities, but…there are some. We will continue to invest our time and resources in these players and families.”
